Ages fortid, skoven blev vækket og Månen udløst en hundesulten bæst på Jorden. Mennesket krøb i frygt ... Det har været 300 år siden menneskehedens forstyrrelser af miljø forlod Jorden i ruiner. Nu er resterne af menneskeheden delt som aldrig før. Den smuldrende rester af store byer står i svag sameksistens med den indtrængende skov, og mennesker lever på begge sider af denne brygning konflikt. Unge Agito, søn af en aldrende helt, uforvarende sætter gang i en række katastrofale begivenheder, når han vandrer ind i en forbudt zone af skoven. Han snubler over en kryogen stasis rør indeholdende Toola, en pige, der har en afgørende opgave betroet hende fra fortiden ... Det er en usikker fred i en unaturlig tid. Kun ved at søge deres sjæle og undersøge fortiden, vil Agito og Toola forstå oprindelsen af alle ting og forene menneskeheden med skoven.
